MESSAGE FOR 2020

“Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen, You, too, must be patient Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near” – James 5:7-8 NLT

In the third chapter of the book of Joshua (Joshua 3:1-5), as the Israelites were making progress to enter the land of promise. God told them that He could see ahead of them and that He could confirm that the land had been given to them. He is likewise telling Believers today, that our businesses.careers, education, health relationships etc will all prosper in 2020. The only caveat is that we must follow His instructions.

He promised to guide the Israelites all the way (Joshua 3:4), since they were travelling through a place they had never been before, just as we are entering into a new year. He promised to go ahead of them and get rid of all their enemies, which means that they will not be bothered, as He will fight all their battles for them. In 2020, God will likewise remove all the potential devourers and ‘contrary spirits’ from our paths, even the ones that have bothered us for years.

He said He will do these things, not only to give us peace but also for the people of the earth to know that Believers serve a mighty God (Joshua 4:23-24).

For these great wonders to happen in our midst in 2020, God is asking us to purify(consecrate) ourselves, just as He told Joshua to tell the Israelites (Joshua 3:5), He wants us to keep ourselves holy and seek for help where we are struggling.

There are so many areas of our lives to consider, but we should be mindful that lack of faith in the promises of God and impatience can often drive Believers to be disobedient to God. We must be patient and believe that God will come through in the end (Isaiah 46:10). We should learn from King Saul, who took the law into his hands and committed a sin because he was impatient (1 Samuel 13:8-14). King Saul started well but did not inherit the promises of God.

I pray that God will answer your prayers as you seek His face for grace to keep yourself holy

Have a blessed 2020

Pastor Tolu Ojo.
